Data Sources
Where Our Data Comes From
Every bag policy on BagCheck is sourced from publicly available, official information. We do not rely on rumour, social media posts, or unverified fan reports. Our goal is to give you information you can actually trust at the gate.
Each venue listing includes a link to its primary source so you can verify the policy yourself before your event.
Primary Source Types
- Official venue websites — most stadiums and arenas publish a dedicated bag policy or fan guide page (e.g. “Guest Experience” or “Know Before You Go”)
- Team and league websites — NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS teams often publish bag rules on their official ticketing or FAQ pages
- Official event guides — for major events like the FIFA World Cup 2026, organiser-published fan guides supersede the venue's standard policy
- Press releases and season announcements — venues frequently announce policy changes at the start of a new season via press release
- Verified user submissions — fans who attended an event and noticed a discrepancy can submit an update; every submission is reviewed by our team before going live
How We Keep Data Fresh
Each venue listing shows a “last verified” date — the most recent date our team confirmed the policy against its official source. We aim to re-verify high-traffic venues at least once per season and after any major league policy announcement.
Despite our best efforts, bag policies can change without notice — especially for high-security events or late-season games. Always double-check the venue's official website on the day of your event.
Spotted Something Wrong?
If you find a policy that is out of date or incorrect, please use our Submit an Update form. Community reports are one of our most valuable signals for catching policy changes between our regular review cycles.
