Xcel Energy Center Bag Policy (2026)
Last verified: January 15, 2025 · How we verify
Official websiteXcel Energy Center is a full-size arena seating 17,954 in St. Paul, MN, home to the Minnesota Wild of the NHL. The arena hosts NHL hockey and other events, making it one of the busiest event venues in the St. Paul area.
Like most NHL venues, Xcel Energy Center enforces a clear bag policy. All bags brought into the arena must be transparent plastic, vinyl, or PVC no larger than 12"×6"×12". Each fan may also bring one small non-clear clutch or wristlet (up to 4.5"×6.5"). To avoid any issues at the gate, bring a clear bag that meets the size requirements (12"×6"×12" maximum) and arrive early — security lines move faster when bags are transparent. A one-gallon clear zip-lock bag is an inexpensive alternative if you need a quick solution. If you arrive with a non-compliant bag, Xcel Energy Center offers locker or bag check services near the entrance.
